JLPT3の試験があります。

posted Tue 11 Nov 08

ゆべはJLPT3試験のメールをもらいました。メールではしけんのきりつでした。

パソコンやけいたいやヂジのとけいだけやつくることができません、といいました。テストが3時間です、そしてこれは12月7日です。テストにしんぱいしていますが、ごうかくすれば、かいぜんですよ!私は1年粗勉強しています。

Last night, I received the JLPT3 test mail. In the mail were the test rules. It said that I couldn't use a computer, a cell phone, or a digital watch! The test is three hours long and is on December 7th. I'm worried about the test, but if I pass I will be very happy! I have been studying for almost a year.

Obviously I'm nowhere near as expressive in Japanese as I am in English..but I figure it's not all that bad considering I've been studying it for less than a year. Anyway, I may be posting less blog posts until December 7th as I ruthlessly cram to try and get in the last bits of Kanji, vocab, and grammar studying. This test requires you to learn 200-ish Kanji, 1500 vocabulary words, and over 100 grammar forms. There is also a listening section and none of the instructions for the exam will be written in English.

I think the hardest part for me will be not having a computer with me and not even being able to wear a digital watch or use my iPhone!

Good luck Kevin! I used to study Japanese at an evening course years ago. I love the culture and the language. It was my aim to go and work in Japan - that never happened. Now all those hours spent learning Japanese have slowly washed away from my memory over the years.

Ganbatte!

Hey, Kevin! Good luck on the JLPT this weekend. I'm writing the same level as you are!

:( Something rather serious came up and I'm not going to be able to make it to the test on Sunday... which means I won't be able to take it until next year.

Ouch, that's rough. At least you get to avoid the studying process, I guess. I've been going 6 hours straight to get the vocab down! 5 semesters of full-time study are apparently not enough!

I hope you get through whatever's going on. Good luck.

Thanks... I ended up doing all of the studying and still won't be able to take the test. I guess it just means that I will be more prepared for the test next year :)

Hi Kevin. I'm not good speaking English... but I'm Japanese :D Your Japanese is good. I can understand it. I don't know how difficult JLPT3 is. But it seems enough for daily conversation.(for business, more KANJI needed)

Here are my suggestions. >ヂジのとけいだけやつくることができません。

  • -> デジタルの時計(とけい)はつかうことができません。

"デジタル" means a digital. You can also use デジ, but it is a abbreviation. "つくる" means "make". Source says "I couldn't use". So it should be used "つかう" (means "use"). "だけ" means "only" ,"only just". Source doesn't contain such words.

>ごうかくすれば、かいぜんですよ!

  • -> 合格(ごうかく)すれば、とてもうれしいです!

"かいぜん" means "improve". とても (very) うれしいです( happy)

私は1年粗勉強しています。

  • -> 私はほぼ1年勉強しています。

"almost" is "ほぼ" or "ほとんど". "粗" is a prefix means "rough". It also uses as a adjective "あらい(粗い)" .

Thanx for reading and sorry for my poor English. A JLPT3 Test is over. I praise your effort, you got it or not. よい お年を! (Have a good year ahead! )
