First, let's take a look at what Microsoft dropped today:

This set of tools will also install the Silverlight 2.0 runtime and the Silverlight 2.0 SDK.
Here are some videos of Scott Guthrie's tutorials on Silverlight 2.0:

And, not necessarily related to MIX '08, but I also found a link to the C# microkernel Operating System codenamed Singularity (links to Codeplex):

The only thing I can really say to this much new stuff from Microsoft in a single day is that my spare time just went out the Window. I plan on spending a lot of time digging into the ASP.NET MVC stuff as well as Silverlight. At some point I want to look into Singularity but as it is still just a research project I can probably defer that for a while. I will probably not spend much time looking at IE8 either... the two new highlighted features, "Slices" and "Activities" both gave me a meh feeling. I get the feeling that I've seen them both somewhere before... but I can't quite *OSX / Safari* put a finger on it....
Anyway, I will let you know how the exploration of the new stuff goes. After all, I somehow feel as though it is my duty to stick my hand into the burning flame of new goodies so you can see what color my flesh burns :)
