The July CTP is out. If you're interested, you can get the following files:
July CTP SDKExtensions for Workflow Foundation.NET Framework 3.0 Runtime Components July CTPHere's what bugs me - there's no "Orcas" component this time 'round. In other words, according to the documentation that I can find, this July CTP is only for those folks who love to code WPF, WCF, and WF applications by hand with Notepad and msbuild on the command line. I fail to see the point of this release. Sure, I appreciate the fact that work is being done, bugs are being fixed, and everything is getting closer to RC1 .. but would you please just
let me catch my breath already!?! I got hold of the June CTP in early June, and I've had about a month to play with it... Now the July CTP comes out and I'm
still working on the June CTP.
As I said, I love updates and I love new software, but its a considerable time investment for me to yank out the previous CTP from all of my test machines, make sure they're clean, and then re-install the new CTP on all of my test machines. Thats not including the time spent rebuilding all my apps to make sure that there weren't any breaking compile changes. If we're so close to an RC1 release, why are we going to waste all this time installing the July CTP?
Feel free to download it if you like, but my samples posted on this blog will continue to be based on the June CTP ... unless of course they release the Orcas extensions for the July CTP ... and then despite all my complaining and moaning, I will probably stay up late installing the new CTP :)
