This is a great recipe (found on
www.familyfun.com) to do with the kids, not only because the end result is cute, but because its pretty easy to do.
First, you make up a batch of sugar cookies with sesame seeds on top. While those are baking (this is a great part to get the kids to help with), take shredded coconut and a couple drops of green food coloring and shake it up in a ziploc bag. This is going to be your lettuce!
Once the cookies are done - these are the buns for the Shamburgers. Onto each Shamburger, put a single York Peppermint Pattie, use red and yellow food coloring both for ketchup and mustard styling as well as to stick the buns to the York pattie, and put a pile of "lettuce" (green-dyed coconut shreds) on the top of the burger, and this is what you get:

Sorry about the picture quality - the cell phone camera doesn't do close-ups very well. Anyway, these things are delicious, and ridiculously easy to make, and the novelty of having little tiny hamburgers for a desert is pretty good. Again, they're great to make with kids because they're so easy to do.
p.s. If you're getting upset with me that this post has no C# in it, no WPF, no WF, and not even any WCF or DLinq.. keep your hat on I'm working on some code for an upcoming entry. I thought some people might actually enjoy something
non-technical for a change :)
